COMMUNITY
RELATIONS
The MCSO Public Affairs & Community Engagement
(PACE) Unit hosted its fourth annual 414 Trust Kickball
Tournament, and planned MCSO’s first-ever National
Night Out event, two of 200-plus annual events hosted or
participated in by PACE. By far PACE’s most anticipated
annual activity, the tournament, brought children
together from across Milwaukee County and featured a
robust volunteer crew of coaches and mentors,
consisting of deputy sheriffs, police officers, and
firefighters from partner agencies. Once again, PACE led
Milwaukee County’s Thanksgiving meal giveaway efforts,
with 16 deputy sheriffs, correctional officers (COs), and
student cadets giving their time to help package and
distribute more than 1,200 turkeys and meal kits. PACE
got Little Caesar’s Pizza to bring back its Love Kitchen (a
pizzeria in a semi-trailer!) to Milwaukee, with surprise
pizza parties for hundreds of kids who learn and play at
the Sherman Park Boys & Girls Club location. PACE made
20-plus school presentations about the potential dangers
of social media for kids and parents – a presentation so
popular that by mid-year, elected officials and school
principals throughout Milwaukee County were being
referred to PACE to request the presentation at their
neighborhood schools.
